Ghent is a beautiful city of about a quarter of a million dwellers. You will start your walking tour at the St. Bavo's Cathedral, home of the world famous altarpiece “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” painted by the Van Eyck brothers in the 15th century and many other priceless pieces of art the church and its crypt.
In front of the church, you will see the Belfry, the Cloth hall and the Saint Nicolas church. On the quays of the ancient port of Ghent you will admire the fascinating architecture of some guilds houses.
After a stroll through the narrow medieval streets you will certainly be impressed by the breathtaking Gravensteen (castle of the former Counts of Flanders originating from the Middle Ages).
