In this tour, you will discover the boroughs of Brussels, which developed in the 19th century, and where some international exhibitions took place: the Heysel area, the 50th anniversary arch area, and in the University of Brussels area. On the way, you will admire some Art Nouveau and Art Déco architectural treasures.
Further, in the European Parliament quarter, you will understand how European institutions have given Brussels a unique role in contemporary Europe.
The circuit will continue by foot in the medieval heart of the city: from the extraordinary Grand Place to the beautiful St Hubert Royal Galeries where the famous Belgian pralines were invented by Jean Neuhaus. Your guide will recount the legend of the most famous little boy of Brussels: the Manneken Pis. Finally you will hear everything there is to know about “Greek bread”, our beers brewed since the Middle Ages, chocolate, and our most popular dishes (waterzooi, rabbit cooked in beer and Belgian endives covered with a cheese sauce)..
